Well....

the bracelet held up to a hard day at the office! In fact I think the bracelet held up better than I did! I have lots of ideas for designs, and I'm about to spend a few hours at the torch making the beads I need. I haven't forgotten the winestoppers I promised either. The stoppers are en route from the US, and I'm busily making beads to pop on them.

Have a lovely weekend!

Wirework Experiment

I've been experimenting with wirework techniques this week. This is an experimental bracelet that I've made in copper, which I've hammered. The intention is to use sterling silver and my own handmade glass beads to make completely unique and totally made-from-raw ingredients jewellery. I'm very excited and I can't wait to get started!

It will be interesting to see how long it takes before this copper bracelet becomes patinated, and whether it turns my skin green! I've read that copper can be cleaned in lemon juice, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Silver and Lampwork Bracelet

I've made my first sterling silver bracelet with my own lampwork beads. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out, and I shall wear it tomorrow to see how it holds up! I think I shall be exploring the world of wirework a whole lot more, because it really seems to suit my beads.

Having Fun... it's what matters most.

I've had a really lazy afternoon, and it's been lovely! I made a few beads, and they're currently cooking in my kiln. I've also had a rummage through my bead box and actually made something for myself, which is quite rare! It's just a simple bookmark using one of my own raised flower lampwork beads, but it was fun to make, and after all that's what making beads should be all about.

Wow!

I love to see what you've all created with my beads. Julie Fountain, of Ruby's Jewels made these beautiful pieces with my Silver Melt Pebbles. Aren't they stunning? Take a look at her website to see more of her creations.

If you would like to send me any photographs of what you've created using my beads, I'd love to see them. With your permission I will feature them here, with a link to your website. Just contact me!

Busy busy busy!

Ok, so I know I'm a week late with the beads, but they're in the shop now! I've been using my new spree press to make gorgeous graduated sets. I have more new shapes coming soon as soon as I get time to have a play. I've lots of jewellery to make for Robin's gallery today, but I'm hoping to get some torch time in over the weekend too.

I made more winestoppers, and a beaded pen too. I hope you like them.
